Professor Anan Shetty receives Hunterian Award

Prof. Anan Shetty, an internationally renowned knee surgeon and Chair and Director of stem cell research at Canterbury Christ Church University has been awarded the prestigious Hunterian Professorship and Medal for 2017 by UK’s Royal College of Surgeons for his research on stem cells in articular cartilage repair.

The event took place yesterday 28th April 2017.

Named after the pioneering surgeon scientist John Hunter and dating back over two centuries, the award continues to be a highly regarded and prestigious award in the field of surgery and is awarded annually.

Past recipients of the professorship include Nobel Laureate Alexander Fleming for the discovery of Penicillin, famous surgeons like Treves, Spencer-Wells, Penfield, Darzi Trotter and Moynihan.
